The Vancouver Canucks signed Quinn Hughes on March 10th. There were people who worried that the Canucks would fail to keep Hughes from playing in under ten games, causing him to require protection in the Seattle expansion draft.
After blocking a shot off his foot in game one of the NCAA Big Ten playoffs, Hughes’ arrival to Vancouver saw him slip his foot into a walking boot rather than a pair of skates. That darn Vancouver injury bug.
With just eight games remaining in the season, the Canucks will not have to worry about Hughes number of games played.
