According to NEWS 1130 Sports, the Vancouver Canucks are trying to sign prospect defenceman Nikita Tryamkin of the Kontinental Hockey League’s Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. To do so, he would have to be released by his club first.

Tryamkin was the Canucks’ third-round pick (66th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. At 6-foot-8 and 231 pounds, Tryamkin is a giant stay-at-home defender.
