There have been plenty of excuses for the lackluster performance of the Vancouver Canucks during the tenure of current head coach Travis Green, whether it be underperforming veterans or new rookies earning their way.
This year is different. They have a budding superstar in Elias Pettersson and a groomed captain in Bo Horvat; they also have some guys that have shown the ability to put the puck in the net.
Three years ago, Horvat was the only current core member who is still a part of this team. The tide is changing, and the only thing that will allow coach Green to not get taken out to sea is by getting this club to the playoffs.
