Shots — the Vancouver Canucks don’t need shots!
Neither do the Columbus Blue Jackets, apparently. Between them, the two teams managed only 42 shots, and they still combined for seven goals.
When playing a team with an excellent powerplay, the old adage is “stay out of the box.” The Canucks did that, only taking two penalties in the game.
Unfortunately, it didn’t make a difference. The Columbus power play was a perfect two-for-two on the day. Cam Atkinson and Brandon Saad score with the man advantage in the second period to give the Jackets a 2-0 lead.
