Today the Vancouver Canucks announced the signing of winger Jack Skille to a professional tryout contract (PTO). Skille was drafted seventh overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and has since suited up for the Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Colorado Avalanche.
After signing Tuomo Ruutu, James Sheppard and Kevin Carr to PTOs last week, the Canucks now have four players trying out at their training camp.
Out of the four players, Skille might have the best chance to make the roster — but you shouldn’t count on it.
