One of the most divisive figures amongst Vancouver Canucks fan is the team’s general manager Jim Benning. After five years on the job, the Canucks have failed to make the playoffs every year except for in 2015, when they were eliminated in the first round by the Calgary Flames in six games.
Benning has been the recipient of a lot of criticism since taking over for Mike Gillis in Vancouver. He has made some questionable moves, such as trading for players such as Brandon Sutter and Erik Gudbranson, and signing players to contracts that the Canucks are now having to backpedal on.
