Despite spending all of his 2016-17 NHL time in the press box, Andrey Pedan is ready to give it another try with the Vancouver Canucks. The AHL Utica Comets defenseman appeared in 13 NHL games in 2015-16, but was nothing more than an injury insurance for the Canucks this season. That could change soon.
The Canucks were forced to let Pedan’s countryman Nikita Tryamkin and Dane Philip Larsen walk and therefore have a vacancy or two on their blue line. Pedan can bring speed and physicality to the lineup, which is something Canucks management values highly.
