Vancouver Canucks Select C Rodrigo Abols and C Brett McKenzie in 7th Round

It was an exciting day for the Vancouver Canucks, who made six interesting picks in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. They wrapped things up with WHL Portland Winterhawks forward Rodrigo Abolsat 184 and OHL North Bay Battalion forward Brett McKenzieat 194.

Since the fifth round, fans and media were waiting for the Canucks to call the name of Burnaby native Ty Ronning.

However, at 184, the Canucks selected overage forward Rodrigo Abols. Abols is a known name in Vancouver, as he was a prospect camp invite last year. The Canucks wanted to sign him but had to find out he had to re-enter the draft.
