It was announced today that Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin will also captain Team Sweden at the World Cup of Hockey this month. His brother Daniel Sedin will be an alternate captain.
The twins are very familiar with those roles, as they assumed the same roles with the Canucks in 2010, and have since led the club as its captains, with varying alternates throughout the years.
Originally, Sweden was going to go into the tournament with Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg captaining the team. However, he will miss the tournament with a knee injury suffered during off-ice training.
