Vancouver Canucks Re-Sign Reid Boucher

Just a week after Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning reached a one-year pact with Michael Chaput, he managed to bring back Reid Boucher on a one-year deal worth $687,000, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Boucher, who was drafted 99th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2011, was claimed off waivers by the Canucks (via the Nashville Predators), early in January. Boucher did show some flashes with his great speed, scoring five goals and two assists in 27 games.

Obviously, this move was done by Benning just to fill out the bottom-six of the roster, and it’s highly unlikely Boucher becomes an NHL regular.
