The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed blueliner Derrick Pouliot to a one-year deal worth $1.1 million, according to Rick Dhaliwal of Sportsnet 650.
Though the Canucks decided not to qualify Pouliot, the two sides were still keen on getting a deal done. They were able to reach an agreement, and general manager Jim Benning is giving Pouliot a shot to show his worth, and if he’s worth more money when it comes to the negotiating table next year.
Drafted with the eighth overall pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2012, Pouliot was never able to find his footing in the Steel City.
