Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning continued his busy offseason on Wednesday, re-signing centre Brendan Gaunce to a two-year deal wort $750,000 a season, according to Ryan Biech from the Canucks Army:
Gaunce joins a list of bottom-six forwards that Benning already extended. Michael Chaput and Reid Boucher already re-upped in Vancouver this offseason.
Former Canucks general manager Mike Gillis drafted Gaunce with the 26th selection in the 2012 Entry Draft, but he’s struggled at the NHL level. Gaunce didn’t break into the NHL until 2015-16, scoring just one goal in 20 games.
