With only six games remaining, the Vancouver Canucks will need an absolute miracle to get into the postseason — as they sit seven points behind the eighth-seeded Colorado Avalanche.
Even if the Canucks were to win out, 86 points is highly unlikely to get them in. Realistically, the Avalanche need to drop four of fix games. Ditto for the Arizona Coyotes. On top of that, the Canucks would need the Minnesota Wild (79 points, five games left), and Chicago Blackhawks (76 points, seven games left), to lose the majority of their remaining contests as well.
In other words, don’t hold your breath here.
