When the Vancouver Canucks traded Zack Kassian and a fifth-round pick to the Montreal Canadiens for Brandon Prust, many fans were unable to understand what sense it would make for Vancouver. When Kassian had to spend two months in a substance abuse program while Prust, Adam Cracknell and Derek Dorsett formed one of the NHL’s best bottom lines, that opinion changed rather quickly.
That whole story ended in both Kassian and Prust being waived by their respective clubs.
