Vancouver Canucks goalie prospect Michael DiPietro played the first game of the tournament against Denmark, with Team Canada crushed them 14-0.
DiPietro didn’t really have a busy night as he only faced 14 shots. He stopped a penalty shot and had an assist. In Canada’s next game against the Czech Republic, DiPietro turned aside 23 of 24 shots– leading his team to a 5-1 victory.
He could possibly take the net against the Russians on New Year’s Eve. When Canada reaches the knockout stage DiPietro should be the starter. Ian Scott has been pretty solid as well.
