Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning had one easy task heading into free agency on Monday, and that was to simply add some new bodies to the blue line.
Mission accomplished for Benning. He signed Winnipeg Jets standout Tyler Myers, B.C. boy Jordie Benn and Swedish product Oscar Fantenberg. The Canucks now have a completely revamped defensive unit, one that will look a lot different compared to what we saw on opening day of this past season.
Only time will tell if these contracts were worthwhile, or if they’ll end up as massive disappointments for Benning.
