With some of their most prominent players already called to international duty, the Vancouver Canucks are going to enjoy some prospects action at the 2016 IIHF World Championships in Russia this May.
Netminder Thatcher Demko was named to Team USA’s roster on Thursday. The Americans are looking to go young this year, with top 2016 NHL Entry Draft prospect Auston Matthews leading the charge. Team USA’s first game of the tournament will be against Team Canada on May 6th, 2016.
Demko, who led his Boston College Eagles to the Frozen Four semi-finals and was named the nation’s top college goaltender with the Mike Richter Award, boasts a 1.
