The Canuck Way continues its series looking at the best Vancouver Canucks at every number. This time we look at No. 5. Before Kevin Bieksa arrived on the scene, it was Bryan Allen who served as the Canucks shutdown defender. Allen was a high draft pick, being taken with the fourth overall pick in the 1998 NHL Draft by the Canucks. His first few seasons after being drafted didn’t exactly go as planned however. Constantly having injury troubles, he only played a total of 49 games between the 1998-99 and 1999-00 seasons. He would make his debut with the Canucks in the 2000-01 season, playing six games with the team.
