It had been a long time since Vancouver Canucks fans got excited about the arrival of a young superstar, until Brock Boeser came along pieced together one of the top rookie seasons in franchise history last year.
The 21-year-old scored 29 goals and 55 points in 62 games last season. He certainly would have had a better shot at winning the Calder Trophy if a back injury didn’t force him to miss the final month of the season.
Expectations are high for Boeser in 2018-19, and rightfully so. If he’s healthy, a 30-goal, 70-point season isn’t out of the question.
