Henrik and Daniel Sedin retired after the 2017-18 season, and the Vancouver Canucks chose to go without a captain for the ensuing 2018-19 campaign.
One has to think that general manager Jim Benning and head coach Travis Green were merely using last season as an audition for Bo Horvat. The 24-year-old has been long mentioned as the favorite to take over the “C.” Quite frankly, there isn’t a better option for filling the shoes as the leader in the post-Sedin era.
It only seems like a matter of time until Benning and Green eventually name Horvat as the new team captain.
