Given all the injuries the Vancouver Canucks have endured this season, it’s quite remarkable that head coach Travis Green has kept this group into the playoff race just days before the trade deadline.
Vancouver has dropped eight of its last 11 games now, and two of those victories came in shootouts. Ever since Alexander Edler went down with a concussion on Feb. 4, the Canucks have been slumping — all while the other playoff hopefuls start to get hot in pursuit of a wild card spot.
Entering play on Saturday, the Canucks are four points behind the Minnesota Wild for the eight seed, and five behind the Dallas Stars for the first wild card spot.
