After signing Russian defenceman Nikita Tryamkin out of earlier this month, the Vancouver Canucks are reportedly close to signing prospect forward Anton Rodin of Brynas IF.
Rodin, a 25-year-old right winger, had been drafted by the Canucks in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and came over to North America for the first time in 2011. He spent two seasons with the Chicago Wolves, Vancouver’s former American Hockey League affiliate, where he recorded 14 goals and 41 points in 111 games. Rodin then returned to Sweden following the 2012-13 campaign.
Rodin : "After 2 injury riddled seasons in AHL, I made call to return to Sweden.
