The Vancouver Canucks have began contract extension talks with Brock Boeser‘s agent, Ben Hankinson, according to Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province.
Boeser, 21, is coming off the final season of his entry-level deal. He scored 29 goals and 55 points in his rookie season, earning a nomination for the Calder Trophy, which was won by Mathew Barzal of the New York Islanders.
Kuzma suggested that the five-year, $30.5 million extension ($6.1 million annually), Dylan Larkin got from the Detroit Red Wings “might only be a starting point for Boeser.
