The Vancouver Canucks came into this year’s free agency with one goal in mind, fixing the defence. They addressed that by signing Tyler Myers, and now Jordie Benn along with Oscar Fantenberg. Benn is a versatile left-handed defenceman who can play both the right and left side.
As per Sportsnet’s Rick Dhaliwal, Benn’s contract is a two year deal with an annual average value of $2 million. His contract has limited trade protection, so like Myers, the Canucks are not required to protect either of them at the Seattle expansion draft.
