Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning went on quite the offseason spending spree, but it’s left him with a roster and salary cap problem.
The Canucks need to re-sign star RFA Brock Boeser, but they’re right up against the cap right now. In order to fit Boeser’s new contract contract without going over the cap, Benning will certainly have to move out one of his expensive veteran forwards.
Trading Loui Eriksson was always going to be next to impossible, and the Canucks are looking at two options: Keep him or put Eriksson in the minors.
