At the halfway point of Loui Eriksson‘s six-year, $36 million contract, the Vancouver Canucks have only received 32 goals and 76 points in 196 total games.
General manager Jim Benning was expecting Eriksson “to be a consistent 20-goal scorer,” but the 34-year-old hasn’t scored more than 11 goals in a single season with the Canucks. Given his age and injury history, Vancouver would be best off trying to find a potential taker for the final three years of Eriksson’s contract.
According to CapFriendly.com, buying out Eriksson now would carry a cap hit of just over $5.
