CANUCKS NEWS: It’s not like I didn’t warn you. Last night we saw a pretty clear demonstration that even if the Canucks are a better team than the one they iced last season, they still can’t hang with the big boys. There’s some positives to be taken from this game, though. Anders Nilsson was solid, and that score really doesn’t give an accurate portrayal of his evening. Nikolay Goldobin responded well to Travis Green slotting him in with Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser, and perhaps we’ll see that combination again tomorrow night against Boston. In the end, this team isn’t yet equipped to handle elite teams playing at the top of their game, and there aren’t many better than the way the Jets play in the MTS Center.
