Sharks sink Canucks 4-1 as losing streak hits nine straight

The mind-numbing losses continue to mount for the Vancouver Canucks, who again played quite well for long stretches Tuesday before falling 4-1 to the San Jose Sharks.

For those who have lost count, that’s nine straight National Hockey League losses for the Canucks, just one shy of the franchise record set way back in the fall of 1997.

There are six games remaining for the Canucks, who can only hope that streak doesn’t reach 15 by the time the season mercifully ends on April 9.

Logan Couture broke a 1-1 tie with 11 seconds left in the second period after defenceman Alex Biega turned the puck over behind his own net.
