The Vancouver Canucks’ practice Monday at UBC ended with a couple of kids at centre ice play-fighting.
Actually, Jake Virtanen was giving Ben Hutton some lessons in the fisticuffs department. Moments earlier, veteran Brandon Prust had passed on some of his pugilistic prowess to Virtanen.
“Prustie was showing me some things and I have actually been in a couple (fights) and Huttie hasn’t been in one in his career, so I thought I’d show him just a thing or two seeing we are getting into some serious games here,” a smiling Virtanen said.
“Jake asked me if I wanted to go and I said there’s no fighting in college hockey, so I guess I better learn now, right?
