The future might come as soon as tomorrow for 2015 Canucks first rounder Brock Boeser. With the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in double overtime on Friday, Boeser is expected to turn pro right away.
Citing a source, Brad Elliott Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald wrote that Boeser will join the Canucks immediately. This will likely burn a year of Boeser’s entry-level contract, speeding up his re-signing timeline. However, given Boeser’s status as one of the few highly touted forward prospects in the Canucks system, he likely has leverage to demand an accelerated timeline.
