Vancouver, B.C. - In the early hours of September 23rd, over 300 volunteers took to the streets to support Raise-a-Reader Day, the Vancouver Sun campaign that promotes literacy in Canadian families. Funds raised by the annual campaign are used to empower families by providing the tools that they need to build their reading abilities, and thus significantly improve their quality of life.
Starting at 7am, Trevor Linden along with Canucks players Sven Baertschi and Jacob Markstrom took donations in exchange for a special edition of the Vancouver Sun, with all proceeds going to family literacy programs including the Canucks Family Education Centre.
