Quadrelli Report: Vancouver Canucks blowout Kings in home opener

The Vancouver Canucks beat the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 8-2 in the home opener of their 50th year in the National Hockey League. Here’s what I noticed from last night’s game.

An unforgettable night for Hughes and Horvat

Like nearly everybody else in Vancouver, Bo Horvat knew this night was coming. He’s been primed for this moment for years and fans were ready for him to get the captaincy as soon as Henrik Sedin retired alongside brother Daniel at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season.

Horvat is a good person who is respected by his teammates, opponents, and coaches, and is certainly the right man for the job.
