The Canucks started the trade deadline week by shipping Alex Burrows east to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for 19-year old prospect Jonathan Dahlen.
Tonight, after scratching Jannik Hansen, the Canucks dealt the 10-year veteran to the division-leading San Jose Sharks in exchange for Nikolay Goldobin and a conditional fourth round pick.
In addition to putting up some nice numbers at the AHL level this year, the Canucks can also rest easy knowing he won't be swiped away during the expansion draft.
Goldobin has 15 goals and 41 points in 46 AHL games this season.
