Iain MacIntyre: Alex Burrows knows he’s living on borrowed time with the Canucks

LOS ANGELES — So this is what it was like to be the last of the dinosaurs — assuming the giant reptiles thought rationally and deductively and spoke from the heart with a French accent.

Alex Burrows figures he will soon be extinct as far as the Vancouver Canucks go.

He has seen Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler, Kevin Bieksa and Jason Garrison get traded in the last couple of years. He watched as Chris Higgins and Brandon Prust were waived and sent to the minors, knows Dan Hamhuis and Radim Vrbata and, next year, Ryan Miller will probably leave when their contracts expire.
