Game Day: New Canuck Emerson Etem eager to take on his former team in Rangers

NEW YORK — As a young man, Emerson Etem misses the energy and adventure of Manhattan. As a young hockey player, he should benefit from the quiet predictability of the Vancouver Canucks.

Less than two weeks since a trade to the Canucks from the New York Rangers — a wakeup call to a 23-year-old on his third National Hockey League team in seven months — Etem returns to Madison Square Garden tonight.

He was in and out of the lineup with the Rangers and bounced between positions when he did play. In four games with the Canucks, three of them victories, the winger has played on the third line each night with former junior teammate Linden Vey.
