UTICA, N.Y. – After back-to-back overtime losses against the host Manchester Monarchs to open the Calder Cup Final, the Utica Comets bounced back Wednesday with a 3-2 victory on home ice.
Captain Cal O’Reilly, Alexandre Grenier and Nicklas Jensen scored for the Vancouver Canucks’ American Hockey League farm team, which will look to even the best-of-seven series on Friday at Utica Memorial Auditorium.
Adrian Kempe had both goals for the Monarchs, who trailed 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 heading into the final frame. Utica outshot Manchester 38-34. Jacob Markstrom was in net for the Comets.
