The Vancouver Canucks say defenseman Troy Stecher has been diagnosed with mumps and that four other players are showing symptoms of the virus.
Jim Benning, the team's general manager, named Chris Tanev, Nikita Tryamkin, Michael Chaput and Markus Granlund as players who have had symptoms.
According to a statement released by the team, the five players were "immediately being tested and quarantined in isolation for a five-day period from the onset of symptoms or until test results prove negative."
