Back to the Willie Desjardins days, Sven Baertschi has been a guy who has always responded well to a demotion.
Tonight was no different. Banished from the top line after two middling games, Baertschi stole the spotlight away from Elias Pettersson. For one night, at least.
Baertschi had three points on an evening that had it’s entertaining moments. Two young, fast teams traded chances early on, but at even-strength the Canes held the advantage throughout.
Carolina has their own crop of budding young talent, and some of them were evident tonight.
