The Vancouver Canucks continued making off-season moves, this one conveniently timed for an NHL Playoff off-day.
Jim Benning locked up an RFA today, extending Markus Granlund for two years. Granlund, as no regular reader of Nucks Misconduct will ever forget, was acquired in February for Hunter Shinkaruk. The trade triggered poor Phantazic's epic (but super amusing) psychotic break.
According to GeneralFanager.com, Granlund's cap hit comes in at $900,000, which seems just about perfect to me. Perhaps they encouraged Granlund to accept a lower cap hit in exchange for not giving up any of his UFA years.
