Canucks put veteran winger Prust on waivers

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks have placed veteran winger Brandon Prust on waivers.

Prust had sat out the last three games as a healthy scratch and had been replaced on the Canucks’ fourth line by rookie Jake Virtanen.

Prust has one goal and seven points in 35 games with the Canucks this season.

He is in the final year of a contract that pays him $2.5 million this season. He will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Prust was acquired last summer from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for fellow winger Zack Kassian and a fifth-round draft pick.
