Saturday’s gut-wrenching to the loss essentially put the final dagger in the Vancouver Canucks‘ playoff hopes for 2017. The good news is that they once again showed plans to build toward the future, signing Drew Shore on Sunday after an impressive 2016-17 campaign in the Swiss-A league.
Shore has played 80 NHL games in his career, scoring nine goals and 24 points with the Florida Panthers and Calgary Flames. Shore was among the top scorers in Swiss-A with Kloten HC, scoring 24 goals and 48 points in 50 games.
The Canucks are handing out quality minutes to some of their younger players as head coach Willie Desjardins prepares for a second-straight non-playoff season.
