VANCOUVER — Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins knows who will start in goal Thursday night when his team faces playoff elimination (7 p.m. PT, on CBC, TSN 1040), he just isn't saying.
But Desjardins did admit Wednesday that Alex Burrows is out for the series and that Utica Comets call-up Sven Baertschi, a former Calgary Flame, will almost certainly be in the lineup for Game 5 of the best-of-seven opening-round series. The Flames lead it 3-1 after sweeping their home games by scores of 4-2 and 3-1.
So Willie, your starter is …?
"I have decided, but we'll wait to see after the morning skate and then we'll name him," replied the coach, who wouldn't bite on the follow-up question of whether the situation calls for an experienced veteran (Ryan Miller) over the playoff rookie (Eddie Lack).
