Brandon Prust will be joining Chris Higgins on the farm.
The Vancouver Canucks announced today that Prust — the rugged, veteran winger obtained from the Montreal Canadiens last summer for Zack Kassian — is being reassigned to the AHL’s Utica Comets, where he will skate alongside Higgins, who was dispatched to the Comets last month.
The 31-year-old Prust, who lost his spot in the Canucks lineup to younger players like rookie winger Jake Virtanen, played in 35 games for the Canucks this season, where he has seven points (1-6-7) along with 59 penalty minutes.
Since his NHL debut in 2006-07, Prust has 115 points (40-75-115) and 1,036 penalty minutes in 486 regular season games split between the Canucks, Canadiens, Rangers, Flames, and Coyotes.
