But hey, this certainly wasn’t the worst signing of the day. You could argue, in fact, that this was a reasonable signing by the Canucks.

Brandon Sutter is reportedly re-joining the Canucks on a one-year deal worth $1.125 million. He just finished a five-year deal with the Canucks that was worth $4.375 million annually.
For a number of reasons, this signing makes sense for the Canucks. Sutter is still strong in the face-off circle, and he’s currently the only right-handed center on the roster.
