The Vancouver Canucks will be without defenseman Alexander Edler and forward Brandon Sutter for at least six weeks.
Edler, the Canucks' highest-scoring defenseman with 20 points in 52 games, has a fractured fibula and is expected to be out for six weeks, the team announced Friday.
Sutter is expected to miss six to eight weeks following surgery for a broken jaw.
Sutter and Edler were sent home Wednesday after suffering injuries in the second period of Tuesday night's 3-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
Sutter was playing in just his fourth game after missing 33 games following sports hernia surgery.
