With the Vancouver Canucks season already looking like a write-off, another blow today as Adam Gaudette was pulled from the ice during practice today after the team learned that he has tested positive for COVID-19. This comes as the Province of BC is dealing with a new wave of cases and hospitalizations, and have seen the provincial government re-implement stricter rules to try and stem the tide.
Jake Virtanen was absent from today’s practice because he was feeling ill, and we’re keeping an eye out to see if that is related to Gaudette’s positive test.
What we need to wait for now is to see if any other players have been infected, which could see the postponement of tomorrow’s game against the Calgary Flames, and the looming 12 day roadtrip to Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg.
