Over 5,000 Crusader and Rambler fans experienced this season’s highest spirited game against Loyola. Although Valparaiso lost to Loyola 56-51, the student section was full of energy.
The game was nationally televised.
“It was unbelievable. It was a lot more fun to play in, a lot more fun to coach in that environment, and I think that has to be the standard,” said coach Matt Lottich.
The Crusaders started out slow with Loyola holding the lead until junior center Jaume Sorolla made a jump shot in the paint, with an assist by freshman guard Javon Freeman to make the game 15-14.
