Valpo Softball headed into their second-to-last weekend of the regular season expecting to play the Murray State Racers over the course of three days, but there were a few hiccups along the way. Due to a weather issue, their Friday matchup got pushed to a doubleheader on Saturday. Then, after dropping both games in their Saturday doubleheader, their Sunday matchup was canceled due to unplayable field conditions.
Facing hardships and adapting on the fly to uncontrollable factors is not a new feat for the Beacons. With their previous head coach stepping down mid-season, and having a 14-game losing streak heading into the weekend, the Beacons have had to learn how to roll with the punches.
