VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Joe Burton scored 18 points and missed just three of 11 shot attempts, Bakari Evelyn scored 14 points and Valparaiso drubbed Southeastern Louisiana 83-50 on Sunday.
Derrik Smits made all six of his shots and finished with 12 points and collected six rebounds for Valparaiso.
Valparaiso (4-0) led 32-22 at halftime, and after intermission, Jabbar Singleton hit a layup and Eddy Polanco made a 3-pointer and a layup to bring the Lions within 42-38 with 13:37 left. But from there, Southeastern Louisiana shot 2 for 16 from the floor and the Crusaders outscored the Lions 41-12 to end the game.
