Yukich smashes 400m hurdles mark on final day of UTSA Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — For the second time in two days a UTSA record has fallen, as Alanah Yukich smashed the school standard in the women's 400-meter hurdles to headline Saturday action for the Roadrunners at the UTSA Invitational at Park West Athletics Complex.

Making her outdoor debut this week, Yukich clocked a time of 58.70 seconds to win the 400m hurdles and break the program's 29-year-old record of 59.76 by Valicia Henderson in 1992. The Perth, Australia, native sprinted out to a big lead before the first hurdle and cruised to victory ahead of runner-up Erin Derrow of Houston (1:01.
